Katalin Koltai is very active in doing pedagogical work with children from different background.
She had founded and had been leading the 'Winding Stairs Project' (Csigalépcső) Project between 2009-10 in Ózd and Monor. The project was for primary school children from Gipsy origin who are segregated from society and are in a severely disadvantaged social position.
The aim was that these children regularly encountered positive art experiences, offering thus an alternative way towards education, development and community-building.
Through the art experiences the project assisted the social integration of primary school children (age 6-15) with severely disadvantaged background, and fostered the general psychological development of the children, with an emphasis on drama, music and overcoming typical learning difficulties.
Since 2011 Katalin Koltai joined the project of MUS-E foundation, where she is regularly holding creative musical lessons for children with
learning difficulties .
Since 2010 she is also a collaborating artist in the art pedagogical program of MU Theater, as well regularly leading children creative art programs in the Palace of Art (Művészetek Palotája).
In 2010 she received the prestigious Junior Prima Prize (Hungary) for her artistic and pedagogical work.
